From inception of Cape Honeybush Tea Company in 1998, we have taken great care in the way we handle Honeybush tea. It is the most precious indigenous plant in the Cape Province of South Africa. Our sustainable harvesting methods, careful processing techniques and thoughtful packaging are testimony to the pride we take in our tea.

We have been working with loyal and passionate customers in building up our company and have succeeded in developing a relationship of trust with them. It is our endeavour to explore new markets for our tea and grow hand in hand with our existing and new distributors.

Our Certifications include:

The Perishable Products Export Control Board (PPECB) is an independent service provider of quality certification and cold chain management services for producers and exporters of perishable food products. JAS requires evaluation of the internal structure and managerial competence that supports such processes. JAS further focuses on verifying that systems are in place for deciding and ensuring the products meet the relevant standards (grading.)

The Ecocert Organic Standard (EOS) is a private standard implemented by ECOCERT SA and approved as equivalent by the European Commission for organic certification in a large selection of Third Countries (outside the European Union) and applicable to several types of products. www.ecocert.com

Ecocert SA operates a certification scheme according to the standards set by the National Organic Program (NOP) and regulated by the US Department of Agriculture (USDA).

HACCP (Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points) is a management system in which food safety is addressed through the analysis and control of biological, chemical, and physical hazards from raw material production, procurement and handling, to manufacturing, distribution and consumption of the finished product. HACCP is mandatory in several countries, including the US and the EU. HACCP principles and guidelines for its application have been adopted by the Codex Alimentarius Commission. The HACCP system is science based and identifies specific hazards and measures for their control to ensure the safety of food.
